So once again, I'm finally writing on my xanga lol.
Soooo much has happened...
    -Summer ended
    -School started
    -running/tennis improvement
    -hurricane IKE
    -evacuation to College Station
-and MUCH MORE i cant remember...

This summer has been great. I love the hot weather and all the time I spent playing tennis and doing other things. I can't really remember what I did this summer lol, so I'l just skip that.

I've already gone through the first 2 weeks of school (really should be 3 weeks, but IKE hit), and it has been all right. I have AP English first period, which kinda sucks. Ms. Harder is the FAKEST and a pretty weird teacher. I'm doing all right in that class so far, hopefully I'll have a high A, and that's being optimistic. Other than that, my other classes are pretty good. I got a 100 on my first Anatomy test, and I'm doing pretty well in AP US Hist. Along with school, obviously seminary has started. I have Sis Elsworth this year (the bishop's wife). She's a pretty good teacher compared to who I had last year. Me and Mindy are once again the most competitive and best ppl at scripture mastery haha. Tennis has also been great this year. I have a great new coach from Crosby and he knows his tennis and does what's fair. Unlike my old coach, he doesn't pick favorites and is not critical. Unfortunately, our annual trip to Corpus was cancelled because of the hurricane. =(. Cross country has also been all right. I didn't go to the first meet since I went to my first Champ Tournament. I didn't do bad in terms of performance but I had to play the girl who won the tournament second round -.-. Mindy supered in her draw. Anyway, running every morning has been pretty hardcore. I have speedwork every tuesday and thurdsay. Tuesdays I run a short pace per mile (which is usually 3 miles) in under 21 minutes. I also run a long pace per mile on thursday (usually 4 miles) in under 28 minutes. I'm the top runner on the team. My last sppm was 20:25 for 3 miles.

So, Hurricane Ike ended up being a blessing for me. I got to evacuate to College Station =D. It was great seeing my old friends, especially Andrew and June. We were really close when I lived there and still are. Simon ended up already being over there before he even knew we had to evacuate. So we all stayed at Zhen Liu's house most of the time. Thursday night we arrived tehre, and me and Mindy visited Andrew Kim right away. It was a pretty mellow night, we just played games lol. Friday me and Mindy played tennis and ran through all the old places we once loved (like Rock Prarie, our old house, Edelweiss park), visited Andrew and June's project group at the library, and went to Rock Prarie for a Mormon youth activity. That ended up being really fun because Cori Decell's mom works at the school so we got to run around the school in the dark. I also invited Andrew Kim and Jacob Pokora and we kinda ditched everyone and played basketball on the indoor mini basketball court lol. After playing around for a while, me, mindy, jacob, and andrew all went to Andrew's house and just chilled for a little bit. Then Lena came over and we all decided to go to Maggie Moo's. It was closed, so we went to Whataburger and had delicious shakes. I couldn't even finish mine, even though it was a small lol. I was too cold. Of course Andrew was like the only one who finished his. Kaiti and Cori with her bf also showed up a little later. We saw some Galveston evacuees there too, that was pretty funny as we joked around with them. Me and Mindy then decided to stay the night at Kaiti White's house with Cori. It was a great night. We watched Sweet Home Alabama (i'd never seen it) and then we all headed to bed. That morning we made some bland pancakes (the mix sucked lol) and then we watched A Walk to Remember. Her dad also brought is Schlotzky's, but I wasn't to hungry. I was beginning to feel guilty again because I ate so much that day and the day before. So after all that, we basically stayed the whole day there. Me and Kaiti planned for the 4 of us and Andrew to eat dinner at Cheddar's and hang out afterward at her house. We invited other ppl but they couldnt come. June kept telling me he couldn't do somany things b/c of his strict parents and then they had 4 families that evacuated over at their house. So at Cheddar's I just had soup, because I wasn't hungry at all. It was pretty funny b/c nobody was actually hungry lol. I also saw Besty Haberl there with some other girls for a birthday dinner. It as fun talking to her and stuff. After dinner, I rode with Andrew to Kaiti's house and we all hung out for just a little. I had to be home at around 11. I played pool with them and I ended up doing pretty well =P. That night I decided to run after we got home. I told you I was feeling guilty. Lol. So i ran just 3 miles after since it was obviously really late (cs is safe though, so I wasn't worried). Sunday morning my parents were planning on leaving, but I convinced them that we should stay the night; that was a good idea, because right now (a week later), we STILL don't have power. Anyway, that morning we went to a one hour combined ward/evacuee sacrament/testimony meeting. The passing of the sacrament took soooo long. that was an interesting experience though and it was cool to see people. that day I also got to go to June's house finally to hang out with him. We also invited Patrick choi and Jacob Pokora over. We played wii games and poker, and other card games. June had been sick for a while and Andrew was too sick to come. I started to think that I might be bad luck o.O. Lena also came a little later. Anyway, that was fun, but I couldn't stay too long since they had school the next day. So Monday morning, we were back off to Friendswood. When we arrived to Friendswood, I was pretty surprised at the damage. Cat 2 hurricanes can do quite a bit =o. So yeah, school has been out for a whole week. I'm guessing we start school on Wednesday or something. The good things about the hurricane are that I missed a lot of xc meets =P, got to go to CS, and I also have time to relax, get some hw done, and to play tennis.
Right now I'm at a church member's house. I spent the night here with Mindy and we also ate dinner with them. Their family is really nice and I like the house. I guess I'm not really used to AC anymore, beacuse I'm literally freezing right now lol.

Anywayy, I'll have pics up later. I know nobody reads lol, but we'll see when I post next time =PP

So its been FOREVER since I last posted.

Well I've been on vacation in California this past week and a half. Its been awesomee.

At first it started out kind of slow, with a HUGE airplane delay, my mom who already arrived to cali a day before me and mindy waited with PoPo for 3 hrs at the airport. Oh yeah, me and mindy went on an airplane alone for the first time =P. The airplane ride sucked, I asked this man if i could trade seats with him but he didn't want to, cuz I was trading him for my middle seat and his window seat. One thing that I did do productively was read This I Believe. , one of the incredibly boring books I need to read for Summer Reading.. blehh. Well anyway, that day I arrived at my Grandma's house (PoPo) to sleep after I got back exhausted from the dreary plane ride. We took a taxi, and the taxi driver was seriously weird. He was singing Arabian songs and sped so much, but um w/e. My mom as being paranoid too and told me not to talk to him.

I woke up to a typical chinese dinner, anything to do with rice I guess? haha, so after that we all went to Berkeley to visit my bro, Simon. We took the BART (subway), and that was also my first time going on the subway. It's pretty cool I guess. This lady also came up to us selling us some kind of injury treatment for athletes when she saw us with our tennis racquets. We walked a pretty long way until we found him, floating through campus on his friend's long board. Man, I really need to learn to long board, it actually doesn't look that hard, I'm just not used to it. Another challenge would be the many hills there. So then I arrived to my bro's dorm, which was pretty messy but nonetheless pretty homey. Then we went to eat lunch with Simon and everybody, including my Dad who arrived a little bit later than me and Mindy did. Simon recommended us Indian food, Naan and Curry. It was sooo good, definitely great. Naan bread is really good , and inexpensive. The curry was also really great. That night me and Mindy slept at the dorm, and Simon reluctantly gave us a room becuase he has a job that can allow him to do that, although he isn't allowed. So we went downstairs to sleep and had to leave early in the morning so nobody would see that we had spent the night in an unoccupied room. The sleep was pretty comfortable, although I was sooo not used to the cold in Cali and in the dorm. I definitely don't like the feeling of getting up from your warm blankets out into the freezing cold room. Simon said the weather was being kindof freakish and that the weather was always perfect here.

The following day (Saturday) my brother and my parents went to the temple. I think Simon was getting his Endowments taken care of before he leave on his mission to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. So me and Mindy had the whole day basically just together around campus. So we decided to eat lunch at Gypsy's, an italian restaurant, and we ate calzones. They were pretty good, and huuge =P. After eating there we went to play some tennis at Berkeley's tennis courts, which suckk, perhaps there are better ones somewhere else. We also went running around campus cuz I didn't want to get too behind in xc. That night we also went to see Simon's church a little bit after Simon got back. There was supposed to be a "party" but yeah only a few ppl were there lol, but w/e. We went back to the dorm to play dota with Simon's friend, Jim and we played 2v2 (me and mindy vs them. since Jim was new to dota). That went..swell haha. not. We all kept disconnected since we all had wireless or something.

The next day (Sunday) we went to Simon's church at Berkeley the university ward. That was interesting. People kept stating their opinions and having discussions and what not. After church there was a delicioussss Linger Longer. They served great food, like amazing salad (and i usually hate salad), watermelon, chiskabobs (cant spell), and cookies. After Linger Longer we drove to PoPo's house (me and mindy and our parents) to leave Simon time to do homework. So when we went to PoPo's house, we went to Chinatown (PoPo, Mindy, and I). It was great, and there was a long walk to chinatown, which I really needed after kind of just eating and sitting around. Yeah, if you haven't figured out, I get antsy if I don't run or do tennis for a day. lol. So at Chinatown we saw a lot of good food, like bread and chicken that PoPo would later prepare. So we walked back to her place and later had a great dinner, and Simon was there although he missed eating with all of us cuz he was taking a nap, so he ate a little later.

Monday, the family left on an 8 hr trip to Palm Springs for our timeshare. My Dad printed out the worst maps so it took us FOREVER to get there, like 11 hrs I think. But we finally arrived to the timeshare that night. I came to the conclusion that it was the worst timeshare we've been to. Apparently it was because we got it last minute??  There was no TV in me and Mindy's room, it was scorching outside (114 degrees), and you have to pay to use the fitness center, tennis courts, and pool.

Tuesday, we just spent the day at the timeshare. We paied 10 bucks to use teh fitness center, tennis courts, and pool although it really was supposed to be 15 for the 3 of us kids(my dad is a good bargainer). That day I played tennis with Mindy, although really exhausted from the extreme heat, and then we swam a little. We also had a home cooked meal that night (pork chops), those were pretty good.
Wednesday, it was basically the same, except we went to In-n-Out, which Mindy and Simon were craving for about forever. That was really good. Simon told me they had a secret menu that they don't post at the restaurant. I had no idea. Like he got "animal style" french fries and stuff. Then we played more tennis, swam, and had another home cooked meal. Chicken, rice, and corn. Its funny how I remember the meals isn't it? lol.

Thursday, we left the miserable timeshare lol. and we went to my Dad's childhood friend's house to see him and his family. It was a great stay. Before we arrived there we went to IHOP. That was my first time =P. I didn't get pancakes b/c it was lunch,  but obviously it was kind of a mistake. I got a chicken stacker sandwich but that was still good. We went there to meet his kid which are basiclaly just like us except the fact that we're involved in sports, use internet way more, and are in harder classes and stuff. But anyway, we arrived there and went straight to La Jolla beach. It was sooo fun, the water was cold but you got used to it. We also got to borrow boogie boards so I think that really added to it. haha. That night we ate a potluck dinner at their church (they are LDS too), and we watched fireworks even though it was the 3rd of July. That was really fun.

Friday, we woke up early to a fourth of July breakfast at the church. That was alright, just the usual pancakes and stuff. Then me, Mindy, my parents, and Brother Ng (my dad's friend), went to Old San Diego so we could buy souvenirs and sight see I guess. then we went to the becah with Bro. Ng's whole family and our whole family. Half the time I couldn't find any of the other kids, so I was alone. But it was still fun. Then we ate dinner that night at the Ng's house with the missionaries there too. That was also a great dinner.

Saturday, we had to leave to go back to Oakland. That took most of the day. Then that night we had some time to play tennis and run around the lake. It was enjoyable after sitting in the car for so long. Playing tennis that night was also really fun because we played a little bit of doubles with these two guys that attend Berkeley. They were pretty good.

Sunday, we woke up early, and went straight to Roseville. That's where my cousins (Tracy, Brian, and Ryan) live. We went to church with them and it was Fast Sunday. So i was starving, lol, and church was horribly boring. but oh well. Then we had a great lunch PoPo prepared while she stayed home and the rest of the day was spent playing games like pool, monopoly, cup stacking, etc. then we went home and yeah I went straight to bed.

So today, which is my last day here in Cali, I'm goign to pack up and enjoy this last day. I'll have pics later, but yeah I felt I needed to document whats happened here this Family Summer Vacation. It was great, and also the last one before Simon goes on his mission. When I get home, I have piano lessons to schedule, hours of tennis to make up, miles of xc to make up, a wedding reception to prepare playing for, a birthday party thing at the park, finishing summer reading, preparing for tennis tournaments, and a whole lot more. So it'll be nice to get back to normal life you could say. But anyway, adios!

YAYY I CHAMPED UP!! I won the ZAT last weekend and finally champed after a few tries. I was disappointed in not achieving this goal sooner, but anyway I'm so glad that I did! School has been really tough lately...garhhh i hate AP World History -_-. But anyway I guess I'm doing all right. I CAN'T WAIT to go to College Station Thursday-Saturday for a school tennis tournament. I get to see my best friend and others, play tennis, and get free meals (now that's greatt) haha. Anyway, I have a lot of things to do and tomorrow is ELA TAKS, which i BETTER get commended on, lol, but anyway ill ttyl!

Hey!! So happy late valentine's day lol, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Things have been all right, a lot of stuff has happened so I've been busy/too lazy to write in here lol. Well ummmm, oh yeah, about 2 weeks ago, I went to Sadie and it was lots of fun! I went with a guy named Jeremy and Mindy went with one of our friends named Bryan. I have some pics. Yesturday was also the first tennis tournament of the spring season, wooh! I won consolation in A girls singles, which I'm pretty happy about. I also can't wait to go to College Station for a tournament on March 6-8 with the tennis team, I get to see some old friends there =D. Anyway, sry it's a short post but i gtg now. Adios!

Monday, January 21, 2008

Woo, I survived a week of midterms. All the midterms weren't that bad, and I decided to exempt Chemistry. I'm just really hoping that I get a commended on the TAKS so I can double dip and exempt Chemistry again lol. But anyway, the hardest test was definitely AP World History. I took that on Friday, after taking a 190 question English final. I was just drained and not prepared for that 157 AP World midterm.

So besides finals and my FREE MONDAY tomorrow (Martin Luther King Day.), well except the fact that I have tennis practice at 9 am, life has been pretty good. I got caught for the first time for my cell phone (which I had for only 3 days of school -.-), so I had to get my mom to come to school and get it and also pay 15 bucks. That was gay. If I get caught again it's ASC and other bad crap (really serious =o). Tennis has been pretty good, I went to a ZAT recently which I didn't do so well in. It wasn't until yesturday that I really figured out exactly what I have been doing wrong which has been keeping me from doing as well as I should. It wasn't my skill, it was my mental game. So I bought a book called 50 Mental Strategies for Fearless Tennis by Jeff Greenwald, and I found that it has really helped me because yesturday I played Mindy in a 2 out of 3 set match, and I won using some of the skills I learned. That didn't end up well for her or me though, because my sister pegged me as HARD as she could with a tennis ball..so then I pegged her back (which was really embarrassing cuz all the other ppl at the tennis courts saw and were kind of astonished), lol. So then right after that, there was no screaming, and we left. Haha, shows you how competitive we are, which is sometimes embarrasing. But anyway, besides tennis, I've also been running 3 days a week (4.5 miles) to stay in shape because I noticed that I eat wayy more than other girls lol. On the last day of finals (which was a half day), my brother Simon took me and Mindy to Whataburger and said "wow you guys eat way more than other girls I know," which is very true haha we eat a lot xD. Oh well that's partly why i run. Ummmm, also teaching piano to my two students has been all right. Sometimes we have off weeks and it's hard for me to get my student who is I think 7, to keep still and focus. I myself have been working on Clair de Lune and want to memorize it since it's a very famous song that many people like to hear at receptions and such. I also want to learn a new peice, like maybe Pathetique. Anyways, lots of other stuff has been happening, but of course I don't have the energy to write that much. Adios for now, -Cindy.
